For the active and nature lovers among us, Casa de Los Lirios is a perfect base
Casa de Los Lirios is a perfect base for the active and nature lovers among us. The largest protected natural park of the Communidad Valencia, the Sierra de Mariola. is located in our backyard. The park covers almost 17,000 hectares and has been a protected nature reserve since January 2002. The landscape consists of mountains, valleys, many beautiful wild flowers and old hermitages. The highest mountain is Montcabrer with a height of 1390 m.
Hikers and cyclists can enjoy themselves in this area. Routes have been plotted at various levels and with different lengths.
The area is also known for its beautiful 'Via Verdes', former railway routes that can be walked without cars or explored by bicycle.
In addition to walking and cycling, there are also opportunities for horse riding and climbing in the area.
Culture
Enjoy a tour along authentic villages and towns.
Enjoy the atmosphere, sit on a terrace on a village square, enjoy a tasty meal or tapa in a local restaurant, visit old castles, walk through narrow streets.

City trips
B&B Casa de Los Lirios is centrally located between the cities of Alicante (45 minutes by car) and Valencia (65 minutes by car). Both more than worth a day of exploring during your stay at Casa de Los Lirios.
Valencia
Explore the old center on foot, including the Catedral de Santa Maria de Valencia, Plaza de la Virgin, Esglesia dels Sants Joans and Mercado Central.
Explore the Turia park by bike or on foot. And at the end of this park, of course, view the modern part of Valencia: Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencas. And what could be better than ending the day with a plate of paella (an originally Valencian dish)? For example, on the beach boulevard of Valencia where several restaurants serve this dish.
Alicante
Explore on foot the old city center “Casco Antiguo” including the “Basilica de Santa Maria” and “Placa de l'Ajuntament”. Let yourself be carried away through the small streets and enjoy the beautiful squares you encounter along the way.
Stroll along the boulevard “Explanada Espana” and visit “Castillo de Santa Barbara” (located on the 166 meter high Monte Benacantil hill and accessible on foot or by lift). Since the city itself is located directly on the sea, the beach is nice and close. With over 900 meters of sandy beach it is a great place to stay.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants in Alicante where you can eat the most delicious tapas.
Beaches
With our lovely swimming pool at hand, you don't have to go far to cool down. But a day at the beach can of course provide that ultimate holiday feeling. Several beaches can be reached within an hour from Casa de Los Lirios.
The nearest beach is Gandia (reachable in 50 minutes by car) and is over 5 kilometers long. You can choose to lie on a more lively area where sunbeds and parasols are rented and there is a promenade with restaurants and bars (Playa Norte). Or you can choose a quieter area without many facilities (Playa de Rafalclaid). There is even a nudist beach (Playa de L'Ahuir).
If you want to drive a little further, the beaches of Denia are definitely worth it (reachable in just over an hour). Denia has a coastline of over 20 km and there is a nice beach for every type of beach lover.
La Vila Joiosa is also definitely worth a visit with its 3.5 km of beach. Not only for its beach, but certainly also for the many fishermen's houses that are painted in beautiful pastel shades.
Then of course there are the more famous seaside resorts such as Benidorm, Calpe, Javea and Altea. All within an hour's drive from our B&B.
As a small tip we can give you to choose a route through the mountains instead of the highway. It takes a little longer, but the landscape along the way is beautiful.
Culinary
As Brabant Burgundians and therefore huge “good food lovers”, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that this region is full of Michelin star restaurants.

Within an hour's drive from our B&B there are several 1- and 2-star establishments where you can have lunch or dinner. There is even a 2-star business 3 km away from our B&B called L'Escaleta. So do you have something to celebrate during your stay here or do you feel like treating yourself? there is plenty of choice.
If you choose to have lunch or dinner at L'Escaleta, we will bring you and pick you up again. This so that you can enjoy a delicious glass of wine with great food without any worries.
